Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old.
You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
You must submit your audition form at the specified window with a valid video.

Videos must be recorded horizontally.
Your body must be entirely in frame the whole time.

If you or your video do not meet the requirements, we will not be considering you for ECLIPSE at this time.

The audition form link will be posted on this page at 9PM on September 27th .

Audition Workshop Information

ECLIPSE members will be teaching an excerpt of each audition piece at the audition workshop happening on September 27th from 2-5:30PM . This workshop is purely optional, but the workshop will be very useful for learning specific parts we may focus on to evaluate candidates. This workshop is open to everyone, not only people who are interested in auditioning.

Audition FAQ

Is the workshop mandatory if you want to audition?

The workshop isn't mandatory, but the workshop is valuable as we mention specific details and notes we look for in the audition submission videos themselves!

What do the directors look for in an audition piece?

The directors look most importantly at accuracy of choreography, but we also look at facial expressions, lip syncing, textures, and expression in general!

If I'm only auditioning for Solar, do I have to be present at the first Lunar workshop?

Nope! You can check in before the Solar workshop starts!

Do you need previous dance experience?

Nope! As long as you pass our auditions, we don't care if you have never danced before!

How much does it cost to be on ECLIPSE?

We have dues set at the beginning of each 6-month season. This money goes in to pay our videographers as well as plan group meals, trips, and other perks.

Is there a quota of dances you have to be in per season?

Yes! We have a "points system" where members get points for leading, teaching, participating in covers. Members must meet a certain number of points by the end of the season to be considered active, and you will not have to reaudition to stay on the team.

Can I audition even if I can only be in the group for one season?

Of course! As long as you can commit to the team for that season, we'd love to have you on!

I won't be able to make this audition. When will your next auditions be?

We hold auditions approximately every 6 months!

What happens if I don't submit my form and video in time?

The form will be closed, and you will not be considered for the team for this season.

If I don't live in Northern California, can I still audition and send in my video?

We will not be considering candidates who cannot realistically come to practices.

What if I'm not 18 until after the season starts?

You can always audition the following season!
